Dell is set to launch several new notebooks as well as new tablet PCs and smartphones in Taiwan in 2011, but the actual release date for the tablet PC and smartphone products is currently still in planning, according to Dell Taiwan. Sources from the retail channel pointed out that Dell should release its first tablet PC in Taiwan as soon as in the first half of 2011.

Dell Taiwan pointed out that shipment proportion of consumer-based products should see obvious growth in 2011 as the company will put its focus in developing new consumer products such as the 5-inch Streak, 7-inch Streak 7, Inspiron Duo notebook as well as its upcoming new tablet PCs and smartphones.

In the future, Dell Taiwan will push tablet PC products into both consumer and enterprise markets. For the consumer side, Dell will mainly sell its products through various channels, and for the enterprise side, Dell will push its products through its existing clients and will target industries such as medical treatment as the priority.

In addition, Dell will also make a clear separation between its consumer and enterprise tablets in terms of hardware specifications, services, applications, data security and connection convenience.
