Vee TIME, one of the six WiMAX operators in Taiwan, has entered cooperation with Clearwire to provide roaming services for its subscribers and is talking about the same cooperation with UQ Communications, a WiMAX operator in Japan, according to Vee.

The roaming services provided with Clearwire will be free until the end of 2011 in an attempt to increase WiMAX subscriptions, Vee pointed out. However, UQ is inclined to charge roaming fees, Vee indicated. Vee hopes to settle an agreement with UQ in the first half of 2011.

Every WiMAX operator in Taiwan may increase the number of its subscribers by a monthly average of 10,000 in 2011, representing a substantial takeoff of Taiwan's WiMAX market, Vee pointed out.
