Passive component distributor Podak is expected to see its revenues decline over 20% sequentially in February 2011 due to weak demand from the notebook sector and reduced working days in the month, according to industry sources.
Demand for passive components from the notebook sector has been weak after the Lunar New year holidays, partly due to problems related to Intel's 6-series chipsets, said the sources, noting that the slack demand may last into March before a pick-up in the second quarter.
Podak is a major of distributor of specialty polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors (SP-Caps) for Panasonic in Taiwan. The SP-Caps are used mostly in notebook applications.
