Due to a shortage of aluminum foils, Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor makers plan to hike their quotes with prices of high-voltage aluminum capacitors likely to be raised by 10%, according to industry sources.
Supplies of high-voltage aluminum capacitors have been tight recently as strong market demand for power supply products and PV inverters has resulted in a strong demand for high-voltage capacitors, the sources explained.
Chemi-con, the world's largest supplier of aluminum capacitors, is also facing tight capacity for high-voltage aluminum capacitors, the sources indicated.
Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor maker Lelon Electronics has reportedly received orders from a leading Japan-based LCD TV maker thanks to tight supply of aluminum capacitors in Japan as well as the Japanese yen's appreciation, the sources noted.
