Touch panel maker Wintek has posted consolidated revenues of NT$5.97 billion (US$202 million) for February 2011, down 14.6% sequentially but up 196% on year. For the first two months of 2011, revenues totaled US$12.97 billion, increasing 197.54%.
However, Wintek is expected to see its revenues rebound in March thanks to the launch of iPad 2, according to an estimate by industry sources.
Meanwhile, fellow company Sintek Photronics has signed a five-year NT$7.2 billion (US$243.6 million) syndicated loan agreement with a banking consortium.
The new capital will be used to finance the construction of a 5.5G LTPS production line, which is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2011. Additionally, Sintek also plans to sell 200 million new shares in the form of global depositary receipts.
