Wistron shipped 1.75 million notebooks in February 2011, the lowest monthly level since February 2009, according to the company.
However, Wistron hit record monthly shipments of 600,000 LCD TVs in February, as well as shipping 750,000 desktops, 700,000 monitors, 850,000 hand-held devices and 100,000 servers.
Wistron expects to ship 2.4 million notebooks in March, resulting in first-quarter shipments of 6.4 million, down 12.9% on quarter, compared to 5-10% originally forecast.
On March 8, Wistron reported consolidated revenues of NT$36.698 billion (US$1.24 billion) for February, down 19.5% sequentially and 15.4% on year. The January-February figure of NT$71.162 billion also dropped 13.4% on year.
