LCD driver IC design houses ILI Technology (Ilitek), Orise Technology and Sitronix Technology are expected to see monthly revenues return to a sequential growth track in March 2011, thanks to the launch of new products by handset clients, according to market watchers.
Ilitek, Orise and Sitronix reported sequential declines of 19-20% in revenues for February, because of fewer working days and seasonality. Sitronix, in particular, saw sales fall for the eighth consecutive month in February.
Sitronix' revenues are likely to surpass the January levels in March, the watchers indicated. Sitronix has diversified its product mix to include touch panel controllers and power management ICs, which will become the new growth engines for the company in 2011, the watchers believe.
Sitronix reportedly has entered the supply chain of brand-name smartphone clients with its touch panel ICs.
Orise, reportedly a new driver IC supplier for HTC, will start fulfilling orders to the smartphone vendor in the second quarter, the watchers said. Orise is expected to add four to five new customers in 2011, according to the watchers.
With shipments to clients ramping up, Ilitek, Orise and Sitronix are expected to enjoy double-digit revenue growth sequentially in the second quarter, the watchers said.
