IC design service provider Faraday Technology has announced a shuffle of its top management, with COO Wilson Tzang being promoted to serve as president, replacing incumbent HP Lin who, was promoted to the position of vice chairman.

Tzang became COO at Faraday since 2008. During 2005-2008, Tzang served as executive vice president at consumer IC design house Sonix Technology, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

It remains to be seen if the reshuffle will trigger a revamp of Faraday's roadmap for related USB 3.0 products as the company has recently strengthened its presence in the industry, according to industry sources.

Faraday has continued to expand its market share in the USB 3.0 chipset segment recently, with subsidiaries Innopower Technology handling USB PHY IP licensing business, Fresco Logic producing USB 3.0 host controller chips, and Innostor Technology designing device controller ICs, while Evolution Technology engages in the development of USB 3.0 hub controller chips.
