China Unicom sees 2010 revenues up, profit down - ResearchInChina

China Unicom has reported 2010 consolidated revenues of CNY171.30 billion (US$25.3 billion) growing from 2009 by 11.3% but net profits of CNY3.85 billion dropped 59.7% mainly because of spending in subsidizing handset purchases, according to the company.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortization were CNY59.59 billion and EPS CNY0.163 in 2010, and the company will distribute a dividend per share of CNY0.08.

China Unicom also operates fix-line telecommunication services which generated total revenues of CNY78.70 billion in 2010, accounting for 45.94% of consolidated revenues. The company saw the number of its broadband subscribers increase to 47.224 million at the end of 2010, with monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) of CNY57.1.
