Taiwan-based memory module houses Adata Technology, Apacer Technology, Phison Electronics and Transcend Information are expected to post significant sequential growth in March 2011 revenues, thanks to chip price increases, according to industry sources.
Spot market prices for DRAM and NAND flash memory have rallied recently amid concern that the recent earthquake and tsunami damage in Japan might have significant impact on the industry supply chain.
Adata's March revenues are likely to return to the levels reached in January, the sources estimated. The company stands a chance of returning to profitability in the first quarter of 2011, after three quarters of losses, the sources said.
Transcend will also see its March revenues rebound to January levels, rising over 40% sequentially, the sources indicated. Transcend's gross margin for the first quarter may top 10%, on gains in inventory value arising from chip price growth, the sources said.
Phison, which makes controller IC as well as NAND flash devices, is expected to enjoy a sequential 46% increase in March revenues, according to the sources.
