Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC posted consolidated revenues of NT$104.157 billion (US$3.49 billion), net operating profits of NT$15.529 billion, net profits of NT$14.834 billion and net EPS of NT$18.36 for the first quarter of 2011, its highest quarterly figures on record, according to the company.

March consolidated revenues of NT$37.036 billion were also a monthly record.

HTC shipped an estimated 9.2 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2011, more than the originally projected 8.5 million, according to market analysts. The company is expected to ship more than 11 billion smartphones to generate new record consolidated revenues of NT$125-130 billion in the second quarter, the sources said.
