Taiwan-based notebook keyboard maker Chicony Electronics has announced consolidated revenues of NT$5.18 billion (US$178.96 million) for March 2011, up 50.3% on month, and as the company will gradually increase its component quotes for the second quarter, while seeing its orders increasing, Chicony expects its consolidated revenues for the second quarter to grow 15% sequentially with profitability to also be better than that in the first quarter.

For 2010, Chicony saw its net profits reach NT$3.65 billion with EPS of NT$6.27, a record high.

Chicony's fellow competitors Darfon Electronics and Sunrex Technology also announced on-month revenue growths of 37.7% and 96.9%, reaching NT$2.29 billion and NT$1.41 billion for March, respectively. The on-month revenue increases in March were mainly due to the return of normal working days in the month, while easing of the labor shortages in China also helped the makers' shipments return to normal.
