Taiwan recorded total export value of US$27.25 billion in March 2011,a record total and an increase of 16.7% on year, while the corresponding total import value of US$25.48 billion was also a monthly record, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on April 11.
Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronics had the largest export value of US$7.022 billion in March, rising by 19.9% on month and by 11.4% on year.
The January-March total export value of US$73.83 billion and total import value of US$69.26 billion were both quarterly records.
