ZTE to develop telecom park in Brazil, says report - ResearchInChina

ZTE, a China-based supplier of telecom infrastructure equipment and terminal devices, has signed an MOU with the Brazil government for developing a telecom park in Brazil, according to China-based tech.163.com.

The park occupies 50 hectares (123.6 acres), consisting of four zones specifically for use by an R&D center, production base, administration and supporting service center and residential community of employees, the report indicated. The park will have buildings with total floor area of 80,000 square meters (861,112 square feet). Development will begin in the second half of 2011.

ZTE will produce telecom equipment, handsets and other terminal devices at the park and expects to employ 2,000 staff, with Brazil and the whole Latin America to be target markets. The park will become the largest telecom R&D, production and training base in Brazil, according to the report.
