Taiwan-based AU Optronics (AUO) on April 18 announced that it has obtained from the California Energy Commission (CEC) the certification for licensed marketing of three photovoltaic (PV) modules in California as well as other states recognizing CEC licensing, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The three models are EcoDuo PM220P00 and EcoDuo PM240P00 polycrystalline silicon PV modules and GreenTriplex PM250M00 moonocrystalline silicon PV module, AUO noted. Use of PV modules with CEC licensing is entitled for the state government's subsidies, AUO indicated.
The three models have passed UL (Underwriter Laboratories) 1703 test and ILAC's (International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation) many tests to meet CEC licensing requirements, AUP pointed out. In particular, Eco Duo PM220P00 is the world's first PV module passing SGS PAS 2050 product carbon footprint certification, AUO emphasized.
The two polycrystalline models are for residential, commercial and PV power farm application, while the monocrystalline model features self-cleaning function of dissolving polluting substances on the surface of PV panels under sunlight to maintain steady efficiency of power generation.
