LED packaging house Everlight Electronics' overall utilization has risen from 60-70% during the first quarter of 2011 to 85% currently, according to the company at an April 19 investors conference.
Everlight expects its overall gross margin to increase from 25% in the first quarter to 25-28% in the second, and 26-29% for the year. The company also expects 2011 consolidated revenues to grow 30% from 2010.
Everlight currently has 11 clients for its LCD TV use LED backlights, consisting of six in China, two in Taiwan and Japan each, and one in South Korea, and expects to add one in China and Japan in 2011.
For LED lighting, Everlight focuses on the US and Europe for indoor lighting products, such as LED bulbs and tubes, and the China market for LED street lamps. Everlight has set up a joint ventures in eastern and southeastern China specifically for government procurement of LED street lamps.
Everlight released its first-quarter 2011 financial report at the conference, recording consolidated revenues of NT$3.738 billion (US$128 million), pre-tax profit of NT$538 million, net profit of 440 million and net EPS of NT$1.05.
