The supply of bismaleimide-triazine (BT) resin, a major raw material in the production of IC substrates, has been steady recently. But IC substrate makers expect their revenues to drop 10% sequentially in April 2011 affected by the Japan earthquake
Taiwan-based IC substrate makers, including Unimicron Technology and Kinsus Interconnect Technology, said that they are also monitoring closely the supply situations from two Japan-based BT resin suppliers – Mitsubishi Gas Chemical and Hitachi Chemical – as the two vendors will resume their shipments soon.
Kinsus expects its revenues to stay flat in April as compared to March's levels but the figures will drop 10% sequentially in May due to tight supply of raw materials.
Unimicron declined to comment on the supply of raw materials at the moment but will reveal details of the impact at an investors conference on April 28.
