Acer has announced revenues of NT$28.392 billion (US$991.13 million) for April 2011, down 30.3% sequentially and 23% on year. Compal Electronics, Acer's main ODM partner, also saw its revenues drop 15% on month and 21% on year to NT$56.76 billion during the same month.

Compal also saw its notebook (including tablet PCs) shipments drop to 3.6 million units in April, down from 4.3 million in March. April shipments included 3.3-3.4 million notebooks and 200,000-300,000 tablets.

Compal now expects its combined notebook and tablet shipments in the second quarter to grow 10% sequentially from 10.3 million shipped in the first. Compal's previous projection for a 10% growth did not include tablet PCs.

Compal also shipped 400,000-450,000 LCD TVs in April, down slightly as compared to the previous month. Compal's January-April revenues totaled NT$220.62 billion, decreasing 24% from a year earlier.
