Commenting on Nvidia CEO Huang Jen-hsun recently blamed Android's unsatisfactory sales to some tablet PC players' marketing and pricing strategy, sources from notebook players pointed out that lack of content is the driver of weak demand for the operating system.
The sources pointed out that most of the applications that are executable on Android 2.x are turned out to be un-executable on Android 3.0, while any application that can run on iPhone can be directly transfer to iPad for execution. Since there are only limited applications specifically designed for Android 3.0, it has significantly lagged demand of Android 3.0-based tablet PC.
The sources admitted that their marketing and pricing strategies are also drivers for the Android 3.0's unsatisfactory sales; however, pushing android-based tablet PCs is a must choice since Apple would have achieved a much bigger market share than it already has if the player decided to wait.
However, the sources also noted that since Google is already set to launch the upgraded Android 3.1 in near future, all the issues will be resolved.
The sources believe that the players, which rushed to launch their tablet PCs in the first half of 2011, are meant to test the water, while create topics to attract eyesight from consumers and media, and the real battle should start after Android 3.1 appears in the second half of 2011.
