Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC has offered HTCdev, a project to attract third-party development of mobile applications or digital content based on its user interface Sense through providing tools, technical support and social connections, according to company CEO Peter Chou at Qualcomm's Upling conference in San Diego.

HTC has set up a web portal specifically for the community of Sense-based developers and will offer HTC OpenSense SDK specifically for the development of Sense-based applications, in the third quarter of 2011, Chou indicated.
