Flexible PCB and handset keypad maker Ichia Technologies has posted revenues of NT$613 million (US$21.4 million) for May 2011, an increase of 15.2% from April. Accumulated revenues for the January-May period totaled NT$3.12 billion, up 8.8% on year.

In May, sales of FPCBs accounted for 63.6% of total revenues, and keypads made up the remaining 36.4%, the company noted.

However, the company has decided to postpone an FPCB capacity expansion plan originally slated for June and instead will focus on improving yield rates at its current production lines as a means to jack up output, the company said.

The FPCB expansion project, which calls for ramping up its FPCB capacity to 120,000 square feet a month from 80,000 square feet currently, will be delayed to the second half of 2011, noted the company.

Capex budget of NT$400-500 million originally set up to ramp up FPCB capacity now will be cut to NT$300 million, the company revealed.
