VisEra Technologies, a Taiwan-based maker of CMOS image sensors and wafer-level optical lens modules spun off from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), has obtained Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) security certification from the Directorate General of Customs under the Ministry of Finance (MOF), a privilege giving it simplified and rapid customs clearance procedures when importing and exporting, according to MOF.
VisEra has proposed detailed and relevant reports concerning product examinations adopted a management system to strictly control entry into sensitive places inside the company's factory, the reason for obtaining the privilege, MOF pointed out.
25 Taiwan-based enterprises have been granted AEO security certification, and many more are in the process of applying to facilitate their exports, MOF indicated.
