IC substrate makers Nan Ya PCB and Kinsus Interconnect both are expected to see their revenues continue to move upward in June and the third quarter after posting strong gains in May.
Nan Ya PCB posted consolidated revenues of NT$3.24 billion (US$113.89 million) for May, up 9.86% sequentially and 7.46% on year. Combined revenues for the January-May period reached NT$14.6 billion, increasing 3.86% from a year earlier.
Orders for flip-chip (FC) substrates from Intel for its x66 and x68 processors boosted Nan Ya's revenues for May, said industry sources, who also expect Intel's orders will remain strong in June and the third quarter.
Kinsus saw revenues grow 3.99% on month and 3.16% on year to NT$1.36 billion in May, buoyed by increased orders from the smartphone and tablet PC sectors. For the first five months of 2011, revenues amounted to NT$6.47 billion, up 19.35% on year.
Kinsus is expected to see its revenues expand at least 5% sequentially in the third quarter, estimated the sources.
