Aluminum electrolytic capacitor maker Lelon Electronics and inductor maker Chilisin Electronics both saw their revenues hit a record high in May 2011 due to effects of transferred orders after the March 11 Japan earthquake, according to industry sources.

Lelon generated revenues of NT$441 million (US$15.37 million) in May, up 14% sequentially and 13.3% on year.

A number of clients accelerated their verification of Lelon"s products immediately after the strong earthquake, a move which has helped boost the company's shipments since April, Lelon indicated.

Although the company installed additional equipment in May aiming to ramp up its output, Lelon was forced to delay some shipments to June due to the power brownout policy in China, the company said.

Chilisin saw its revenues grow for three consecutive months to NT$318 million in May, increasing 10% on month and 24.4% on year.

Demand for passive components from the tablet PC and smartphone sectors continued to increase in May, with wire wound 0402 inductors and common-mode chokes in particular, Chilisin revealed.
