BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed lower in the morning session on Monday, tracking Wall Street's losses overnight.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index tumbled 1.63 percent, or 41.29 points, to finish at 2,486.99.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.87 percent, or 209.87 points, to finish the morning session at 11,018.42.
