Ever since Taiwan became a tourist destination for mainland travellers in 2008, the number of individuals traveling across the Strait has been on the rise. Meanwhile, the Chinese mainland is also trying to attract tourists from the Taiwan region.

The 7th Straits Travel Fair is currently underway in Xiamen, Fujian province. More than 600 companies, including travel agencies, hotels and airlines are in attendance. Organizers hope Fujian can become a top travel destination on the mainland for Taiwan holiday-makers.
