HONG KONG, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Monday with the weighted index down 42.6 points, or 0.59 percent, to close at 7,098.08, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

The local bourse fluctuated between 7,057.33 and 7,149.59 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 58.22 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 1.9 billion U.S. dollars).
