Officials of Ministry of Industry and Information say that dozens of non-automobile enterprises are applying alternative energy vehicle production licenses, and it is predicted that a few qualified companies will get the licenses in the near future. This means that the first batch of non-automobile enterprises will get the access licenses, which will increase the market competition.

 

Ministry of Industry and Information published Newly-built BEV enterprises management regulation this June, supporting social capital and technology-creative companies joining the BEV R&D and production. The regulation was carried out on July 10th.

 

The regulation canceled requirements of “newly-built BEV investors should have experience of BEV R&D for three years” and “newly-built BEV producers should submit warranty of battery, engine, electric control system and other key parts for no less than five years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first”, lifting obstacles for non-automobile enterprises entering this industry.

 

Zheng Lixin, spokesman of Ministry of Industry and Information, explained on the press conference held by Information Office of the State Council on November 5th, “The basic access condition for electric vehicle market is the production qualifications. On the other hand, unqualified enterprises will gradually become automobile producers once it fits the national automobile industry polices and meets the access requirements, which is the case of the past non-automobile companies who obtains automobile and electric vehicle production licenses.”

 

Miao Wei, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information, revealed that process has been made in non-automobile companies applying production licenses. He said,” The information auditing is charged by the National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) and Ministry of Industry of Information. Now dozens of non-automobile companies are applying for qualifications and relevant experts are being organized for evaluation. It is predicted that a few qualified qualified companies will get the licenses in the near future.”
