The 5th Shanghai International Stainless Steel Expo (STEXPO 2007) is to open its curtain in INTEX Shanghai from 5th to 7th, September 2007. This exhibition has become the largest regular show with specialized focus on stainless steel production and application every two years. In conjunction with STEXPO 2007, the 5th China International Stainless Steel Congress will be concurrently held in Shanghai.

With the rapid growth of economy, the improving standard of living and the key projects related with China's 2008 Olympic Game, city construction of Beijing and other major cities, exploitation and development of West China and residential housing construction planning conducted by central government, the domestic stainless steel demand increases in a high speed. In 2001, the apparent consumption of China has become the largest stainless steel consumer followed by US. And the production and consumption of stainless steel in China will still continuously increase during a long period of time in the future.

STEXPO and China International Stainless Steel Congress made its first debut in April 1999, and the previous three series have received warm applauds from both exhibitors and visitors. These activities have provided valuable opportunities for domestic and overseas enterprises to explore technological exchange and trade cooperation, to establish enterprise image, and to cultivate the market. At the same time these events have improved the development of stainless steel production and downstream processing industry in China.
