HONDA Motor Co, Japan's second-largest auto maker, said its venture in southern China halted production because heavy rains flooded an engine factory, delaying part deliveries.

Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co stopped car and engine production on Tuesday, a Honda spokesman said yesterday by phone. The plants, which are due to shut over the weekend and Monday for a holiday, may resume output on Wednesday, depending on the condition of the factories, he said.
