FRENCH engineering company Alstom has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's CNR Corp and Shanghai Electric Group Co to form a strategic partnership and jointly develop new markets for mass transit products.

Under the MOU, the three will expand the capabilities and competitiveness of their existing two joint ventures in China.
