China-Biotics, Inc., the leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of probiotics products in China, has submitted two new patent applications to the State Bureau of Intellect Property. The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Growing Bioengineering (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., located in the Qingpu Industrial Zone, has filed two applications in the areas of heat resistant fermentation technology and probiotics protein beverage.

China-Biotics, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Shanghai Shining Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Growing Bioengineering (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., develops and produces its proprietary product portfolio. Currently, the retail products are sold as OTC through large distributors to pharmacies and supermarkets in Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang province. The company also sells bulk products to institutional customers such as dairy and animal feed producers, as well as pharmaceutical companies. In February 2010, China-Biotics began its commercial production in China's largest probiotics production facility to meet growing demand in China.
