Compal Electronics, which recently announced plans to invest US$100 million to build new plants in Chengdu, China, reportedly has decided to establish another production site in Chongqing to support its clients including Acer and Asustek Computer, according to a Chinese-language Apple Daily report.

If the rumor is true, Compal will become the second player to set up production sites in both locations, following Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry). Wistron is also reportedly considering to follow suit, added the paper.
