HTC, having begun shipping its Qualcomm's Brew MP-based handset to AT&T, is expected to also supply other Brew MP-enabled models to Verizon Wireless, according to industry sources.

In addition to HTC, Korea-based Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics (LGE) and Pantech are also the potential suppliers of Brew MP-based handsets for Verizon, said the sources, adding that other vendors, including Motorola, Hua Wei Technologies and ZTE have also ventured into the development of Brew MP-based handsets.

Global shipments of Brew MP-enabled handsets have exceeded one billion units, with Brew MP technology almost becoming a standard for CDMA handsets, said the sources.
