Wuhu Sanyi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, one of China's largest external drug makers, has announced the establishment of a new production base in Wuhu Biomedicine Technology Park.

The production base, covering an area of over 40,000 square meters is expected to produce 200 mln dosages of drugs for external use.

The first phase of the construction will cost RMB 35 mln (USD 4.38 mln) and the first phase of the construction is expected to be completed by September next year.

The new production base will facilitate nine production lines, a new drug R&D center and a Product Testing Center. Ointments will be among the key products for the R&D and production at the new base.

The yearly output of our products now reaches to about 300 mln dosages, and they are all sold in mainland China and the expansion of current production is not for exporting the drugs to overseas markets. Wuhu Sanyi produces about a hundred kinds of drugs for external use, including eye ointments, eye drops, and tablets. Five preparations of the company, such as Ofloxacin Eye Ointment and Ofloxacin Ointment are classed as new drugs at state -level.
