China has approved Schroder Investment Management Ltd, HSBC Investments (Hong Kong) Ltd, and Japan's Shinko Securities Co Ltd for the qualified foreign institutional investor (QFII) programme.
Under the QFII program, foreign investors can invest in China's A-share market, which was originally open only to domestic investors.
At the end of August, 45 foreign institutions had received QFII licenses, with total investment quotas at 7.49 bln USD.
