The premium income of Chinese insurers in the eight months to August rose to 382.10 bln yuan from 342.43 bln at end-July, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) said.
In a statement on its website, the CIRC said the insurance industry's total assets rose to 1.758 trln yuan at the end of August from 1.743 trln at the end of July.
Property premium income in the eight months grew to 99.89 bln yuan from 88.24 bln in the January-July period, while premium income from life insurance for the eight months rose to 282.21 bln yuan from 254.19 bln in the seven months to July, it said.
