Skreem launches online game in China

Skreem Entertainment Corp. announced on Oct 2 that it has launched a new online game in China that is based on historical Chinese figures.

The Orlando-based music and video multiplatform entertainment provider has teamed up with its Korean subsidiary, Weaver Interactive Inc., to launch its games and enter China's close to $1 billion gaming industry.

Skreemwill be operating in China alongside gaming giants Electronic Arts Inc., Shanda, THQ Inc. and Netease, whose stock has doubled within the past 12 months because of its growth in the Far East.

Under the direction of Jan Han Lee, Weaver Interactive has developed a historical role-playing game that is able to be adapted within 90 days to each Asian market's language and culture it enters.

Skreem/Weaver's Samgukji/Luanshi Sangui games are based on Chinese historical figures in the era of the Three Kingdoms, which is taught in schools throughout Asia.

Skreem/Weaver has offices in China and Japan and will be sending teams to enter markets in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand and India during 2007.
