   Date:2011/09/02

Acer will unveil its first Ultrabook device at IFA 2011 which will be held in Berlin, Germany from September 2-7, according to industry sources. The new Acer Ultrabook will feature a 13-inch display, and the company also plans to launch another model with a 15-inch display in the fourth quarter, the sources revealed.

Acer is expected to price its Ultrabook line at between US$799 and US$1,199, the sources said.

Wistron has been pinpointed as the likely contract maker for Acer's upcoming Ultrabook, the sources indicated.

Acer chairman JT Wang previously said that the company is scheduled to launch a US$799 Ultrabook in September. Wang expressed optimism that Ultrabook devices along with the launch of Microsoft's Windows 8 would spur a wave of demand for Ultrabook devices that come with tablet-like features but deliver the performance and capabilities of today's notebooks.

In addition to Acer, Asustek Computer, Dell, Lenovo and Toshiba have all voiced their support for Ultrabooks.
