It is reproted that 2006 from January to August in Shanghai ports overseas wine value is 220 million dollar, 40% more than last year.

It is introduced by Shanghai Customs that in 2004 value of imported wine is 138 million dollar, in 2005 the value increased to 244 million dollar. As Spring Festival, May 1st Golded Week and National day are hot season for retailing, wine imports is very hot in January, March, August.

According to the data from Shanghai Customs, spirits such as brandy and Wiskey accounts for a big market share. From January to August brandy and Wiskey make up more than 80% of total import value. Vodka import makes a jump, imports value rises 52% comparing with the same period of last year.

Martell brandy and Chivas Whiskey make up more than 80% of total wine imports.
