SINGAPORE, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks widened their losses to more than 3 percent on Monday afternoon on lackluster United States job data released over the weekend.
The benchmark Straits Times Index opened down 1.62 percent in the morning and widened its losses thereafter, with the day's low at 2,757.01, representing a loss of 3.03 percent from the previous close.
It was down 2.94 percent at 2,759.49 at 2:22 p.m., joining the losing markets in the region.
Most of the stocks were in red, with losers far outnumbering gainers 375 to 68.
