China stocks rise slightly after continuous drop

BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's stocks edged up on Wednesday following continuous drops for three trading days, after Premier Wen Jiabao expressed confidence in the nation's economy.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.55 percent, or 13.52 points, to end at 2,484.83. The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.44 percent, or 47.1 points, to finish at 10,822.4.
