DelSolar PV modules qualify for 10% extra feed-in tariff in Italy

   Date:2011/09/14

Taiwan-based solar cell maker DelSolar on September 13 indicated that 125-250W PV modules made of its polycrystalline silicon solar cells have passed certification by Germany-based TUV Rheinland to qualify for 10% extra feed-in tariff rates in Italy.

The government of Italy encourages adoption of PV products and components made in Europe by offering a 10% higher feed-in tariff for PV systems of which at least 60% of the wafers, solar cells or PV modules were made in Europe. The Europe-made content is subject to certification by TUV Rheinland.

In order to qualify for the 10% extra feed-in tariff, most Taiwan-based makers have either set up PV assembly lines in Europe or adopted Europe-made solar-grade crystalline silicon wafers.
