The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), together with other two related departments, has announced today that it will start publishing a weekly iron ore index on Oct. 1.

The index will comprise of two sub-indices: “domestic iron ore price sub-index” and “imported iron ore price sub-index”, both of which would be based on prices in April, 1994.

The CISA said the trial of the index which began in August has run smoothly and was in line with market trend.
