LCD panel maker Chimei Innolux (CMI) and Chi Mei Group (CMG) have clarified that they have never made any official comments on AU Optronics' (AUO) price-fixing lawsuit in the US.

A September 23 article cited Liang Yipan, president of Chi Mei Materials, as expressing Chi Mei Group's hope that AUO could win the lawsuit.

But both CMI and Chi Mei Group have stressed that Liang was only expressing his "personal opinions," and they never authorized him to comment on price-fixing cases in the US. They said his opinions should not be considered as the official statements of CMI and Chi Mei Group.

They said CMI and Chi Mei Group always respect US laws and regulations, and they are in no position to comment on AUO's lawsuit with US Department of Justice.
