Low demand in the LED market will likely continue throughout 1Q12, says Everlight chairman

   Date:2011/12/07

Low demand in the LED market will likely continue throughout first-quarter 2012, according to Robert Yeh, chairman of LED packaging house Everlight. Compared with LED TV backlights, the LED lighting market will have a better chance to experience growth, Yeh added. Pricing of LED lighting products continues to be the key for commercialization, Yeh stated.

Yeh indicated that fourth-quarter performance will not show growth compared to the third quarter.

Everlight reported November revenues of NT$1.337 billion (US$44 million), a slight 0.8% decrease on month and 2% increase on year. Accumulated revenues from January-November reached NT$14.96 billion, 2.68% lower compared to the same period in 2010.
