By the end of 2005, 294,000 overseas shops and merchants accepted UnionPay cards, totaling 45,300 POS machines and 62,300 ATMs. 　　

The overseas acceptance of UnionPay card signaled that China's national bankcard branding has delivered expected results, said First Data.

UnionPay card can now be used in the following countries and regions:

Asia: Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, The Philippines, Kazakhstan and Malaysia.
Europe: Germany, Spain, Belgium, Turkey, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Russia and France.
Oceania: Australia and New Zealand.
North America: The United States.
