Top 10 Best-selling Cars in Chinese Mainland

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers' data shows that in 2013 the 10 best-selling cars achieved total sales of 2,871,700 units, accounting for 23.91 percent of all units sold.

No 10, Volkswagen Bora

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co's New Bora sedan, a face-lift version launched in 2012, had a sales volume of 237,200 units in Chinese mainland in 2013.

No 9, Volkswagen Santana

More than 243,300 units of Shanghai Volkswagen's local sedan model, released in December 2012, were sold last year.

No 8, Chevrolet Cruze

Chevrolet Cruze, manufactured by Shanghai General Motors Co, sold 246,900 units last year. The hatch-back model hit the market in September 2013, and the sedan version had its face-lift in 2012.

No 7, Nissan Sylphy

Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co sold 259,500 units of Nissan Sylphy in 2013, which was luanched in April 2012.

No 6, Volkswagen Jetta

FAW-Volkswagen's Jetta had a sales volume of 263,400 units last year, and the car maker released the all-new Jetta in March 2013.

The all-new Jetta in Chinese mainland is a local model, and has nothing to do with the Jetta model in some other markets.

No 5, Volkswagen Sagitar

FAW-Volkswagen's all-new Sagitar hit the market in March 2012, continued its popularity in 2013 and saw 271,200 units sold.

The all-new Sagitar in Chinese mainland is equivalent to the new Jetta in some other markets, including the US and Europe.

No 4, Chevrolet Sail

Shanghai GM's sold 276,300 units of Chevrolet Sail last year, and launched the tuned-up version in late 2013.

No 3, Buick Excelle

Shanghai GM's sedan had its face-lift again in 2012 and maintained its stable position among the best-sellers with sale of 296,200 units.

Shanghai Volkswagen's most popular sedan New Lavida sold more than 374,100 units.

The local model, in recognition of strategic expansion into a new market segment, was unveiled at the Beijing auto show in 2012, and hit the market in August 2012.
