Bosch's China revenue climbs 19% to 82 billion yuan in 2015

   Date:2016/05/31
German supplier Robert Bosch's China revenues rose 19 percent to 11.1 billion euros (82 billion yuan) last year.

China is now Bosch's second-largest global market, after Germany. Over the past three years, China's share of Bosch's sales has risen from 9 to 16 percent.

Although China's economic growth has slowed over the past year, Bosch remains optimistic about its long-term prospects. Last year, Bosch's capital expenditures in China totaled 750 million euros, and the company will invest a similar amount in 2016.

The company also plans to open a new plant in Wuhu this year to produce components for its car multimedia division.

The company also is expanding its software development in China. Last year, 30 percent of Bosch's 5,000 researchers were involved with software. In 2016, Bosch plans to add another 2,500 software engineers.

Bosch now has 55,000 employees in China.
