CHINA Post Group, a state-owned company created from units of the nation's postal service, has applied to set up an insurance unit, the China Securities Journal reported.

China Post's application hasn't yet been approved, said the newspaper, an affiliate of Xinhua news agency, citing Wu Dingfu, chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.
